We are currently looking at hiring for the position of a Provider Manager and a Software Engineer.

A. Provider Manager

The activities to be undertaken as part of the responsibility would include

Empanelment of Healthcare Providers: Identification of quality healthcare providers at all levels, primary, secondary and tertiary care in the project area Conducting accreditation survey of the facilities Negotiation of rates with healthcare providers Quality Monitoring of Empaneled Healthcare Providers: Periodic audits of facilities Developing and implementing other means of quality monitoring, including simulated patients, standardized clinical vignettes etc Developing standard treatment guidelines, methods of measuring performance of providers on these guidelines, and methods of increasing compliance Organizing CME sessions for empaneled providers Training and Ongoing Monitoring and Refresher for Community Health Workers (CHWs): Developing a training module for CHWs, and customizing it for the needs of each project area Developing monitoring tools for testing knowledge and skill of CHWs Conducting training and refresher courses for CHWs Conducting health camps in project area with the help of available resources Developing, implementing and analyzing patient satisfaction surveys Developing metrics for measuring performance of the system, developing and implementing methods of measuring those metrics, analyzing data and generating system-level recommendations Developing claims processing protocols, and overseeing claims processing staff in claims management Supporting day-to-day decision-making by other Swasth India team members with medical expertise as needed

Candidate Background: Ideal candidate should have a clinical degree with 1-3 years of clinical or public health experience. The Provider Manager would be Mumbai based with extensive travel to field sites.

B. Software Engineer

Swasth India is building a comprehensive member health and hospitalization record IT system. This is an opensource system built on LAMP (LinuxApacheMySQLPHP) architecture. We are currently looking for high performance software engineers to join the team and participate in all aspects of the system's end-to-end development and deployment, which include:

Understanding business processes and flows and mapping these into the IT system requirements, specification and screenshots Breaking these design requirements into logical modules and development workplans Developing the system – includes primarily programming on the LAMP architecture Evaluating and setting up productivity improvement tools Understanding integration options with other systems (eg mapping database, data imports, backup scripts) and doing such integration Deploying the system on field and on the web, and managing and troubleshooting incase of issues

Other aspects of work include:

Understanding business processes and flows and mapping these into the IT system requirements, specification and screenshots Evaluating and setting up technology systems for other parts of the company – eg internal document management systems, payment gateways. There often require innovative ways to use existing tools Synthesizing learnings from all the work above into best practices (eg code guidelines, testing mechanism, project management), processes and guidelines

The position is based out of Mumbai, with a bit of travel to our pilot sites all over the country to understand requirements and handle deployments. The engineer will work with a technologically enthusiastic dynamic group and learn about development sector, in addition to learning immensely about all aspects of software system building. We intend to opensource all our systems – thus future technology options may include smart card integration, mobile and handheld applications and public web release of systems, and the candidate will participating in defining these roadmaps.

Candidate Background: Ideal candidate should have BTech or BE in Computer Science, with some experience working on a large LAMP based software project. Interest in keeping abreast of technology, good engineering and problem solving skills and programming is a must.
